1:1 German Language Mentoring

You want to speak German as if it were your second language? Including nuances!

Being aware of the appropriate language register.

Also, you want to save time, because you have tried other courses, but you are always ahead of your classmates or have deeper, more specific questions.

Then, the whole indoctrination and dumping down of most coursebooks annoys you, and you really have to learn how to express your ideas and opinions freely?

I feel mentoring you in the German Language means to treat you as the well-educated, experienced grown-up that you are and give you all the tools you need to be confident, well-spoken, and even funny in your new language. Bottomline helping you be you.

Awareness exercises, comparison talks, and in-chat, whilst-you-speak corrections, as well as my toolkit approach, will get you there.

This is not your average classroom with plenty of students following the bare minimum curricula. It is just the two of us working on your success; this way, progress is guaranteed.

I only take on 4 students at a time to ensure I am fully invested.

I offer Levels A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1

Here is how the courses work:

4 x 90 min onboarding sessions to refresh, discuss individual expectations, gap bridging and milestone plan with measurements

1 level exists out of 2 books, à 5 lectures - the book will make sure we follow the Cerf guidelines, so you will be prepared to take any test or follow up with any course of your choice afterwards

The books are included, and I will send them to you as a physical copy. Do not worry, if they are available for purchase in your country.

With the book, we will spend 4 x 90 minutes per week BUT that is not all you get. We will only practice what is necessary from the coursebook and then make it all about you, your life, and your job.

Per each lecture you will get an exclusively for you produced video, in which I explain the grammar so it is relevant for you, present the vocabulary in a for you useful context, provide you with specific knowledge from integration courses so you won´t miss out on that and finally, give you homework for the whole week to practice and produce language aiming to integrate the newly learned skills into your existing skillset.

Of course, feedback on the homework is included as well.

You have access to me via WhatsApp throughout the whole course duration. (24hr/asynchron)

To make sure you are on track and catching hiccups early on, we engage in a quick 10 min 1o1 weekly.

At the end of the course stands a mock TELC test as well as a portfolio day. This takes up two days à 4hrs

Here are the modalities:

  • You can start at any time.

  • Duration: 11-12 weeks

  • We coordinate the lessons for the week together (if you want to, for the whole course)

  • Bundling lessons into a seminar on the weekends or back-to-back sessions is possible

  • Reschedule up to 1hr before lessonstart

  • There is only me, so all organisation can also be done effectively via WhatsApp.

  • Lessons take place via ZOOM. You are allowed to record.

  • Curated Chat protocol and whiteboard will arrive as PDF in your WhatsApp/Email

  • A letter of recommendation and course content listing will be provided alongside a certificate of attendance

US$4500

(1hr = US$ 45)

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL: IT IS PRIVATE LANGUAGE TEACHING. BY A FHM Bielefeld Hochschulzertifikat Absolvent in Daf/Daz (1,2) with more than 1900 lesson hours online and in person.

I believe in “show don´t tell”, so here are some insights into my course and classwork whiteboards and chats.

Toolkit Approach:

You will get an introduction video to the German Language in A1/A2 courses, where we will build your toolkit together.

These tables will ensure you can better express your opinion from day one than you would by learning everything just one bit at a time.

For B1,B2 and C1 courses, a different type of overview and toolkit to craft with me will be provided.
